Position Announcement – Tax Map Technician / Draftsman
The Meigs County Tax Map Office is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Tax Map Technician / Draftsman. This position assists in maintaining county tax maps, parcel records, and property ownership information used by county offices, surveyors, engineers, title companies, and the public.
· Maintain county tax maps and parcel records.
· Review deeds, survey plats, legal descriptions, and other land records.
· Update ownership records for property transfers, splits, combinations and boundary adjustments.
· Maintain accurate records and files in accordance with county policies and Ohio law.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Strong computer, organizational, and communication skills.
· Ability to read and interpret maps, legal descriptions, and technical documents.
· Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
· Education in Surveying, GIS, Civil Engineering Technology, Geography, or a related field.
· Experience with ArcGIS.
· Experience with deed research or real estate records.
· Knowledge of land surveying principles, property conveyances, and boundary records.
Pay is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
